WILD HEARTS WEDDING FAIR 2016, MAHANA ESTATES, UPPER MOUTERE, NELSON.

SATURDAY MARCH 26TH 2016, 10am-3pm

‘Wild Hearts’ are a community of wedding enthusiasts who decided to showcase Aotearoa’s beauty to the world. Their annual wedding fairs are anything but expos, but rather a festival of creativity that celebrates real brides and grooms and their journeys towards a life together. The venue for this year was in Nelson, hosted at the Mahana Estates, (Mahana meaning ‘warm place’ in Maori) and is one of New Zealand’s premier wineries. The venue was brimming with inspiration, styling techniques by event stylist Samantha Gerard of ‘Balencia Lane’, two runway shows, live music by vocalist and guitarist Lara Cammock, gorgeous canapés all set against the stunning vistas of the Mahana region. A showcase of specially handpicked boutique vendors were present at the event to inspire the welcomed brides and grooms nationwide and those that had journeyed across international waters. Talented wedding and fashion photographers exhibited their work; Bek Smith, Sarah Ryland Photography, Luke Marshall Images, Tim Williams Photography, Charlotte Sowman Photography and Renee Edwards. Bridal gown collections from designers Johanna Hehir and Caroline Campion were showcased on the catwalk and both had stalls to purchase their bridal wear. The venue was adorned with blooms by local florists, ‘Perfect Style’. There was a cultural explosion of flavours from Argentinian ‘Viva La Vaca’; boutique cakes, cupcakes and coffee from ‘Blackbird Cakery’; ‘Madame Lu’s Kitchen’ who also offer cooking classes, ‘Petite Fleur’ and ‘Feast Merchants’ catering. Even a classic car line-up featured in the gardens of the vineyard from ‘Rentaclassic’ and bridal custom signage littered, or rather glittered the venue from ‘Forage and Spruce’ and ‘Just My Type’, ‘GURĒ Botanicals launched their products today with their stunning organic skincare range, I got to sample their gorgeous natural products at their hand washing station, which left them incredibly soft and smooth to the touch. These are just a few of the amazing talented vendors at this years fair. Looking around the fair, this day was not only for the smiling brides and grooms but for their bridal parties, families and friends. Where else can you meet the crème de la crème of the wedding industry in one of the worlds most stunning travel destinations, in the heart of the Abel Tasman, Nelson.
